“Innovations as a means to economic growth. On the example of Geneva, a unique global village in Switzerland with the most innovative economies” - guest speaker Vincent Subilia, Direction générale of CCIG

Vincent Subilia is a Director General of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce (CCIG). He represents the CCIG at numerous regional, national and international institutions, including the General Council of the World Chamber’s Federation, as elected Swiss representative. A qualified lawyer with robust expertise gained in Switzerland and abroad (including Brussels, London, New York and Beijing), Vincent worked within a large international bank in Geneva as Vice President for many years.

Alumni of the Graduate Institute of Geneva, Vincent has been elected as Deputy Member of the Geneva Parliament (former Municipal councillor of the City of Geneva from 2012 to 2018). He is also a member of the Rotary Club Genève International, which he co-founded in 2015, and of the Diplomatic Club of Geneva.

We had a unique opportunity to not only taste various types of wine but also visit the area, trying local products from the farm and harvesting grapes at one of the vineyards around Geneva.

Swiss Rotary Day and Night - May 11, 2019 (3 - 9 pm)

We enjoyed fellowship and gathered the rotarian family for an entire day; we started with a Geneva walk and wine tasting which was followed by a cocktail at our home place, Hotel Ibis Nations. 

Seniors and Millennials Working Together for the SDGs - October 10, 2018 (3 pm)

The United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG), the City of Geneva and the Association of Former International Civil Servants for Development (Greycells), in collaboration with GIMUN, Young UN, The Youth Parliament of Geneva, The Platform of Seniors of Geneva and Rotaract Geneva International: organized an intergenerational dialogue on the SDGs on October 10th, 2018 at 3 :00 pm at the Palais des Nations. http://greycells.ch/index.php?page=events&fonction=voir&id=27

 

This event constituted a first step on a recurrent dialogue between Seniors and Millennials on the SDGs. It started by addressing broad developmental issues but will continue later addressing each one of the SDGs in dept.  

Interact's cycling marathon

April 26, 2018 (5pm to 11pm)

The cyclathon organized by the Interact Club will be held on April 26th starting at 5:30pm. The idea is to ask anyone who participates to be sponsored (a symbolic amount is sufficient), as the Interact Club is raising money for children's education in India and Malawi through the Wings of Hope Charity. 6 members are participating in WOHAA (Wings of Hope Achievement Award), which is a competition that encourages creative fundraising for the cause. 

 

The address to join the cyclathon is: Chemin de la Ferme 2, 1297 Founex and the event will be in the gym (we will be there to guide anyone arriving). The Club prepared six bicycles available and will be asking people to sign up for 20 minute time slots prior to the event.

Conference with Dr. Gervais Rufyikiri, former Vice-President of Burundi

We have the honour to invite to speak in our Rotaract Genève International Club, the Vice-President of Burundi, who will discuss the governance crisis, ethical dillemas, role of civil society, climate of fear, role of NGOs, trust in institutions in Burundi. The event will take place on March 7, 2018 at 6:30 pm in the Geneva Center for Security Policy. 

50th Rotaract Anniversary (1968-2018)

The Year 2018 marks the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Rotaract! 

In order to celebrate this landmark year, we participate in the World Rotaract Week. Each Rotaract Club around the globe has, despite of the common goals, a different, extremely valuable and unique cultural heritage. As a way to create cooperation and mutual understanding between various Clubs in the world, we established a digital exchange of our respective traditions - via pictures and videos - with the Rotaract Club Cones Catoche, San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas in Mexico.

Rotary Day at UN Geneva Peace Week 

10 & 11 November 2017

Together with Rotary International we, from Rotaract Genève International, are happy to invite you to the Rotary Day at the United Nations Office in Geneva. In order to celebrate our relationship with the United Nations, our event will take place by the end of the 2017’s Peace Week. The Rotary Day theme will be the following: « Peace: making a difference ».

If you are willing to know more about the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emergency aid and peace building come meet and exchange with experts.​

On November 11th, a special workshop developed by and for young leaders will highlight the importance of education to peace.

Rotary Day will count with the presence of Rotary International Presidentand 6 champions of Peace will be awarded by John Hewko!

This event is a great opportunity to learn more about some challenges of our current society and to improve your networking!

The night of the 11th will be animated by a closing party aiming to gather 

the next generation of Rotary leaders and will be opened to all Rotaractors 

and Rotarians present.
